The Denver Broncos made two roster moves on Sunday following their 30-9 victory over the San Francisco 49ers in their preseason opener on Saturday.

First, the Broncos waived defensive lineman Matt Henningsen (Achilles) with an injury designation. If he clears waivers, Henningsen will revert to the team’s injured reserve list.

Second, Denver filled Henningsen’s old spot on the 91-man offseason roster by signing cornerback Gregory Junior. The 26-year-old defensive back became available last week when he was waived by the Green Bay Packers.

Junior (6-0, 203 pounds) entered the league as a sixth-round pick out of Ouachita Baptist with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2022. He appeared in one game and made six tackles in his rookie season. Junior then dressed for nine games in 2023 and recorded 11 tackles. He hasn’t appeared in a regular season game since then.

After being waived by the Jaguars last summer, Junior stints on the practice squads of the Indianapolis Colts and Houston Texans during the 2024 season. After being cut by the Texans this spring, he signed with the Packers. He now lands with the Broncos, his fifth team in a three-year span.
