After another disappointing year, the Atlanta Falcons made it a point to upgrade one of the NFL’s worst pass rushes during the offseason. Not only did the Falcons land Georgia edge Jalon Walker with their first choice in the 2025 NFL draft, but they doubled down by trading up for Tennessee edge James Pearce Jr.

The two first-round selections made their NFL debut in Friday night’s preseason opener against the Detroit Lions. Neither player lit up the stat sheet, but there was still plenty to like. Pearce got after the quarterback and recorded three QB hurries.
