We are counting down to the start of the 2025 regular season for the Arizona Cardinals, and that is less than four weeks away. They will open the season on the road against the New Orleans Saints on Sept. 7. That is 27 days away.

As we count down the remaining days of the offseason, let’s look at who has worn that number uniform over the years for the Cardinals.

Cardinals players to wear No. 27

Linebacker Akeem Davis-Gaither, signed this offseason to a two-year contract as a free agent, is No. 27. It is odd because linebackers rarely have numbers in the 20s.

LB Akeem Davis-Gaither (2025-?)

CB Divaad Wilson (2023-2024)

CB Nate Hairston, CB Trayvon Mullen (2022)

CB Kevin Peterson (2019-2021)

CB Leonard Johnson (2018)

S Tyvon Branch (2016-2017)

CB Michael Adams (2007-2012)

CB David Macklin (2004-2006)

DB Chris Oldham (1993-1994)

CB Jay Taylor (1989-1991)

CB Carl Allen (1977-1982)

RB Eddie Moss (1973-1976)

RB Roy Shivers (1966-1972)

OL/WR/RB Howie Tipton (1933-1937)

OL Charlie Diehl (1930-1931)

No. 27 has another number where there have been no great players. Allen, though, was pretty good. He had 14 interceptions in the three-year stretch from 1978-1980. Other than him, there have been a few okay starters, but nothing special.
