The Baltimore Ravens announced Monday that they released veteran Pro Bowl kicker Justin Tucker.
Ravens Executive Vice President and General Manager Eric DeCosta released a statement on Tucker’s release. He called the move a “football decision.”
“Sometimes football decisions are incredibly difficult, and this is one of those instances.
“Considering our current roster, we have made the tough decision to release Justin Tucker.
“Justin created many significant and unforgettable moments in Ravens history.
“His reliability, focus, drive, resilience, and extraordinary talent made him one of the league’s best kickers for over a decade.
“We are grateful for Justin’s many contributions while playing for the Ravens. We sincerely wish him and his family the very best in this next chapter of their lives.”

The release comes amidst controversy off the field. Tucker has faced allegations of inappropriate sexual behavior from 16 massage therapists across eight wellness centers in the Baltimore area. Reports from The Baltimore Banner have illuminated troubling accusations, leading to an NFL investigation.
In response to the allegations, DeCosta called the claims “serious” and “concerning,” and the team was evaluating its approach carefully. Tucker has denied all claims against him.
In earlier statements, Tucker expressed shock and heartbreak over the accusations while maintaining his innocence.
“I maintain I did not act inappropriately at any point before, during, or after a professional bodywork treatment session, nor have I ever been told I am unwelcome at any massage therapy provider,” Tucker said in a statement provided by his publicist. “These claims are simply not true… I have never intended to disrespect anyone, cross any boundary, or make anyone feel uncomfortable in any way whatsoever.”

Tucker also offered an apology, saying, “To anyone who has felt otherwise, I am sorry. I am committed to ensuring that everyone I interact with continues to feel that I respect them and care about them as a human being.”
Through 13 seasons with the Ravens, Tucker has made 89.1% of field goals, which makes him the most accurate kicker in NFL history. He also kicked a game-winning 66-yard field goal against the Detroit Lions in 2021, which remains an NFL record.
The Ravens won’t be going into the season without a kicker. The team drafted kicker Tyler Loop in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL Draft.
