Castles joins the Rams after spending last season with the Chargers

The Los Angeles Rams changed things up at tight end on Monday after losing Anthony Torres to an injury in Saturday’s win. They signed tight end McCallan Castles and waived tight end Anthony Torres with an injury designation.

Castles, 25, went undrafted in the 2024 NFL draft and signed with the Philadelphia Eagles last May. Additionally, he was drafted by the Memphis Showboats of the United Football League. The Eagles waived Castles last August. During the 2024 season, he signed with the Los Angeles Chargers’ practice squad in October. The Chargers waived him recently on August 6.

The South Lake Tahoe, California, native played college football at California from (2018-2019), UC Davis (2020-2022), and Tennessee (2023). In his final collegiate season, he recorded 22 receptions for 283 receiving yards and five receiving touchdowns.
