Texans Head coach DeMeco Ryans said it’s tough to see Brevin go down “knowing how much work he put in to get back.”

A somber moment occured at Houston Texans‘ training camp from one of the team’s most likeable players.
During team drills on Monday inside the practice bubble, veteran tight end Brevin Jordan suffered what appeared to be a serious knee injury. While trying to go up to catch a pass from C.J. Stroud in traffic, but when he came down, he fell awkwardly and did not get up.
According to Houston Chronicle’s Jonathan M. Alexander, Jordan sat there in shock after being unable to move. A couple of his teammates went to check on him before more players came over to comfort the veteran tight end.
Soon enough, the scene became silent as Jordan began to sob uncontrollably. Multiple reporters stated that Jordan screamed “NO!” before being helped into the cart to be taken back by the medical staff for further evaluation.
Jordan, who suffered a torn ACL in Week 2’s win over the Chicago Bears, was having a dominant camp and looked to be the No. 2 tight end and an essential part of the offensive personnel on new play-caller Nick Caley.
As reporters at practice mentioned, the scene was similar to that of Tank Dell’s season-ending injury suffered in a loss against the Kansas City Chiefs. Stroud, who threw the pass to Jordan in drills, was also noticeably upset. He was by tight end Dalton Schultz as Jordan left the field.
A fifth-round pick in the 2021 draft, Jordan has appeared in 36 games with 12 starts since 2022. He’s caught 53 passes for 532 yards with five touchdowns, including a 76-yard score in the Texans’ playoff victory over the Cleveland Browns.
Coach DeMeco Ryans gathered his players together before breaking the huddle and returning to practice. No word has come out of the facility since Jordan’s injury, though it doesn’t seem promising.
