Beginning this past Thursday night, preseason football officially began across the NFL, and at the same time, so did many on-field playing careers.
Yes, included in this weekend of action across the league were countless professional debuts from 2025 NFL draft picks, some of which came from the Alabama Crimson Tide.
Among this group was a former Alabama starting quarterback making his long-anticipated NFL preseason debut, while one of the Crimson Tide’s first round picks from this past spring was also in action.
Here is a look at how every Alabama rookie performed during their NFL preseason debuts this past weekend.
Tim Smith, Defensive Tackle – Indianapolis Colts
Smith made an impact along the Colts defensive front during their 24-16 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. The former Alabama defensive tackle finished with two tackles and one PD.
Jihaad Campbell, Inside Linebacker – Philadelphia Eagles
Selected in the first round this past spring, Campbell’s anticipated NFL preseason debut came in the Eagles 34-27 win over Cincinnati. The inside linebacker finished with three tackles.
Jalen Milroe, Quarterback – Seattle Seahawks
Milroe’s anticipated NFL preseason debut came late Thursday night in the Seahawks’ 23-23 tie against the Raiders, with the former Alabama quarterback playing the entirety of the second half. In all, Milroe completed 6-of-10 passes for 61 yards, while also rushing for 38 yards on three attempts.
Robbie Ouzts, Fullback – Seattle Seahawks
Ouzts started at fullback for Seattle in the Seahawks aforementioned 23-23 tie with Las Vegas. The former Alabama tight end finished with a reception for 17 yards.
CJ Dippre, Tight End – New England Patriots
Dippre did not record any stats during New England’s 48-18 route of the Commanders.
Tyler Booker, Offensive Guard – Dallas Cowboys
Alabama’s first player selected in the 2025 NFL draft, Booker did not play in the Cowboys 31-21 loss to the Rams.
Que Robinson, Outside Linebacker – Denver Broncos
Robinson made an impact in Denver’s 30-9 blowout win over the 49ers, finishing with two tackles. The fourth round pick also had one TFL.
Malachi Moore, Safety – New York Jets
Moore saw action during New York’s 30-10 win over the Green Bay Packers. The safety finished with one tackle.
James Burnip, Punter – New Orleans Saints
Burnip split time as New Orleans’ punter during the Saints 27-13 loss against the Chargers. In the loss, Burnip had three punts for 101 yards, which translated to an average of 33.7 yards per punt, while also downing two inside the 20-yard line with a long of 38.
