The Los Angeles Rams have built a lot of hype heading into the 2025 NFL season. Despite the back injury to Matthew Stafford, L.A. built a solid roster of players on both sides of the ball and kept important players around to make another run at the Super Bowl.

These decisions will pay off in the eyes of CBS Sports NFL analyst and former cornerback Bryant McFadden. He picked the Rams to beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFC Championship game before facing the Buffalo Bills in Super Bowl LX (which will also be back in California for the first time since the Rams won in 2021, although in Santa Clara and not L.A.).

Unfortunately, McFadden didn’t pick the Rams to beat the Bills in the big game.

“I’m making this pick with the Rams under the assumption that Matthew Stafford is not dealing with any more back soreness. He doesn’t need any more shots or Advil on Tylenol. He’s good,” McFadden said. “That’s why I’m making this assumption. Now, if he’s not healthy, no question. I got to go ahead and rethink this thing. But I’m making this prediction under the assumption that Matthew Stafford, number nine, is ready to go.”

The Rams are certainly one of the teams that can compete for a Super Bowl, but it’s tough to have this much confidence in them without knowing the health of Matthew Stafford. While Jimmy Garoppolo is a solid backup, it’s still a bit of an unknown for how L.A. will fare without their star quarterback under center.
