MADISON – Hunter Wohler is moving on to the NFL, but he isn’t leaving Big Ten country.

The former Wisconsin Badgers safety was selected by Indianapolis with the 16th pick of the seventh round (232 overall) of the NFL draft on April 26. The Muskego native is set to join a couple of former Badgers on the roster: running back Jonathan Taylor and guard Tanor Bortolini.

Wohler was the eighth player selected by Indianapolis in a draft that had a Big Ten feel for the Colts. Three other selections were from the conference: Penn State tight end Tyler Warren (first round), Ohio State defensive end J.T. Tuimoloau (second round) and Minnesota cornerback Justin Walley (third round).

He finished his career with 229 tackles, 150 solos and three interceptions in 43 games. He had 11 ½ tackles for a loss.
