New England Patriots rookie running back TreVeyon Henderson popped up once again for another play of the day at Wednesday’s training camp practice against the Minnesota Vikings.
It was a great play call by offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, executed to perfection by quarterback Drake Maye and Henderson. Maye found Henderson on a wheel route, and the rookie running back sped down the sideline to the end zone for a 70-yard touchdown.

The running back’s involvement in the passing game is certainly encouraging. He made an impact catching the ball in last Friday’s preseason opener, hauling in three receptions for 12 yards. He also returned a kickoff for 100 yards and rushed for 18 yards on one carry.
Patriots’ offenses under McDaniels have historically featured the running back as an important element of the passing game. Henderson has the skill set to provide value for a unit that looks significantly more explosive than it did last season.
