The New York Jets are in their first season post-Aaron Rodgers after two years that resulted in a total of five wins with Rodgers under center. Now, Justin Fields is the starting quarterback in New York, and the hope is that the offense finds new life behind Fields’ ability to stress defenses both throwing and running the ball.

However, as good as Fields could be for the offense, the Jets will need the defense to hold up its end of the bargain, which makes some news from Wednesday especially concerning.

“Jets CB Sauce Gardner was held out practice today due to calf soreness and HC Aaron Glenn said the team still is evaluating the injury,” reported ESPN’s senior insider Adam Schefter.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.

“Minor camp injuries have a way of hanging around..Jets better be careful with Sauce,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“I better not see him on the field again until the Steelers game,” another fan wrote on Twitter.

“So overrated, if this dudes name was bill Gardner we would be talking about how he holds all the time. Not how great he is,” one fan added.

It’ll be interesting to see if Gardner is fully healthy in time for the regular season.
