Atlanta’s offense turns heads during joint practices with Titans.

The Atlanta Falcons and Tennessee Titans turned up the intensity during their second day of joint practices, setting the stage for this Friday night’s preseason matchup in Atlanta. The day was not without its trash talk, big plays, and even a few scuffles.

The biggest moment of the day came when Falcons second-year quarterback Michael Penix Jr. connected with Ray-Ray McCloud on a deep pass. McCloud was able to get behind the Titans defense, which led to some heated words from the Falcons quarterback and quickly escalated into a brief altercation between the two teams.

“I’m from Tampa,” Penix said after an intense practice. “I’m from Dade City. We’re all playing, we’re all competing at a high level, but when disrespect comes in, it’s like, all right, this ain’t football no more.”

While the Falcons’ social media team didn’t post footage of the scuffle, they did share the play that prompted it. Watch as Penix connects with McCloud below.

While a fight at practice is always going to lead the headlines, tight end Kyle Pitts also had a head-turning moment as he brought in a bobbled one-handed grab from Penix.

This highlight not only showcased Pitts’ elite athleticism but it created more excitement around the Falcons’ developing offensive chemistry heading into the regular season.

Pitts has a lot to prove this season as he is entering the final year of his rookie contract with Atlanta. After much request from fans, the Falcons’ social media team posted the highlight of Pitts’ reception as well.
