ST JOSEPH, Mo–Lets talk Kansas City Chiefs football.
After nearly three grueling weeks in the heat and humidity of St Joseph, Missouri, the Chiefs broke camp Wednesday.
It was the last day of training camp before the team packs up all its gear and heads back to the Arrowhead Complex about an hour south of Missouri Western.
The Chiefs are just one of six NFL teams that holds its training camp away from it’s main facility.
And Kansas City quarterback Patrick Mahomes likes the set up.
He says it sharpens the team’s focus and gets it ready for the season.
“I thought it was awesome. You know just getting a chance to spend some time with the guys. I thought we had a great training camp. There wasn’t any of those bad days where there’s no energy. Everybody kind of brought their own motivation. And they motivated each other. I like it out here. I’ll be honest with you. It’s like the best practice field that you can possibly have. The weather kind of held off. Except for like one day it was pretty good weather all camp long. The dorms, I could do without the dorms. But everything else, I have fun out here,” said Mahomes.
