Former Wisconsin and current Minnesota Vikings offensive lineman Joe Huber was PFF’s highest-graded undrafted rookie from Week 1 of the 2025 NFL preseason.
Huber led all Vikings players with an overall grade of 94.7 during their 20-10 victory over the Houston Texans on Saturday. His 55 snaps also surpassed the next-highest graded player on the Vikings’ offense, center Michael Jurgens, by 12.

Arguably, the most impressive aspect of Huber’s Preseason Week 1 performance revolved around the gap between his grade and that of his teammates. The former Badger standout was the only member of the Vikings’ offensive unit to log a PFF mark over 90.0. Jurgens (80.0), wide receiver Jordan Addison (79.6), offensive tackle Walter Rouse (78.4) and wide receiver Myles Price (76.8) were the unit’s top five highest-graded players.
With Huber captaining the offensive line at right guard, Minnesota tallied 86 rushing yards and one score on the ground. Houston’s defense, one of the more devastating units during the 2024 slate, accounted for just two sacks on the day.
Huber joined Kevin O’Connell’s squad as an undrafted free agent in April following a pair of seasons under Luke Fickell in Madison. With the Badgers, he started 25 games at right guard.

Considering the dozens of undrafted rookies signed to NFL squads ahead of this season, Huber’s output as the highest-graded member of that cohort is significant. Another strong performance against the New England Patriots on Aug. 16 could solidify his position as Minnesota’s No. 2 option at right guard behind Will Fries.
