Tru Edwards, a standout wide receiver from Louisiana Tech, has signed with the Los Angeles Rams as an undrafted free agent, foregoing his previously announced transfer to the University of Kentucky, according to Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network.
Edwards had committed to Kentucky in January 2025, aiming to bolster the Wildcats’ receiving corps. However, his addition to the roster was never officially confirmed, as he did not sign a National Letter of Intent when A Sea of Blue reached out to Kentucky in March regarding Edwards’ eligibility. Reports indicate that eligibility issues delayed his enrollment, leaving his status with Kentucky in limbo.
During his tenure at Louisiana Tech, Edwards showcased his talent by recording 84 receptions for 986 yards and eight touchdowns in the 2024 season, earning First-Team All-Conference USA honors. Over his collegiate career, he amassed 112 catches for 1,307 yards and eight touchdowns.
The Rams, recognizing Edwards’ potential, added him to their roster following the 2025 NFL Draft. His signing reflects the team’s commitment to enhancing their offensive options and provides Edwards with an opportunity to compete at the professional level.
Edwards’ transition from a prospective SEC player to an NFL signee underscores the unpredictable nature of collegiate athletics and the importance of adaptability in pursuing professional aspirations.
