Raider Nation is hoping for a win this week after tying last week against the Seattle Seahawks, 23-23, when Raiders’ kicker Daniel Carlson’s 55-yard potential game-winning field goal was blocked as time expired.

This will be the only preseason home game for the Raiders. Next week, on Saturday, Aug. 23, they will travel down to Arizona to play the Cardinals in Glendale.

What to watch for: Raiders vs. 49ers

8 Sports Now has three key things they’re watching for thin this week’s game.

Tackling: After last week’s tie against Seattle, coach Pete Carroll talked about the poor tackling he witnessed from his team. Look to see if this improves Saturday, or you can expect to hear the coach push the issue in his postgame news conference. The missed tackles led to several Seahawks’ drives being extended.

Run blocking: The Raiders defense was able to keep a lid on the Seahawks’ aerial attack, but had less success on the ground when highly touted rookie running back Ashton Jeanty had no running lanes to get through. This weekend, it’s vital that the line picks up some of this coverage to stop the run and get off blocks.

Who is QB2: Aidan O’Connell had mixed reviews during his start last week, completing 18 of 30 pass attempts. But he was picked off twice while throwing only one touchdown. Rookie Cam Miller, out of North Dakota State, looked impressive while he was on the field. Miller completed six of seven passes and through for a touchdown with no interceptions.
