3 Micah Parsons Trades That Make Sense, According To Former NFL GM originally appeared on The Spun.
As the contract standoff between the Dallas Cowboys and linebacker Micah Parsons continues, fans are becoming increasingly convinced that a trade is inevitable. For one former NFL general manager, there are a few viable options out there.

On Friday’s edition of ESPN’s Get Up, NFL analyst and former general manager Mike Tannenbaum put forward three potential trade destinations and compensation suggestions that he feels make the most sense.
His first proposal was for the Buffalo Bills: Two first round NFL Draft picks and defensive lineman Ed Oliver. He believes that Buffalo need a pass rusher like Parsons more than they need an elite lineman like Oliver while Dallas needs someone like Oliver to help with their run defense.
Tannenbaum’s second proposal was for the Detroit Lions: A first-round pick, two second-round picks and safety Brian Branch. In that case, he believes Detroit would be fine with paying both Parsons and Aiden Hutchinson elite pass rusher money.

The last proposal was for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers: A first-round pick, running back Bucky Irving and defensive tackle Vita Vea. He believes that Irving would finally restore the Cowboys’ run game while Vea could be their run-stopper.
The fan reaction was quick
Buccaneers fans in particular were flabbergasted by the trade. A number of fans took to X and immediately declared that their team would never give up Irving and Vea.
“No Chance in HELL @Buccaneers,” one user declared.

“No way Bucs giving up that Parsons, wild,” wrote another.
“Not a chance in hell Tampa is giving up either of those players lmao,” a third wrote.
“Again, I see why Tannenbaum failed as a GM.”
“No wonder this guy isn’t a GM in the league anymore.”

Whether you like the trade suggestions or not, each day that passes without reconciliation between Parsons and the team makes it more likely that SOME kind of trade will happen eventually.

This isn’t a Terry McLaurin situation where people believe that he is overplaying his hand. Parsons is clearly the elite of the elite and deserves to be paid that way.
But if Dallas are going to stand on principle (silly as those principles may appear), then they’re more likely to lose Parsons for nothing.
