The Jets (3-10) lost the Dolphins (6-7), 32-26 in overtime, in South Florida on Sunday. Here are three takeaways from the game.
Wilson Makes Jets History
After a quiet three-game stretch with 100 combined receiving yards, Garrett Wilson found his form against the Dolphins and led the Jets with a team-high 114 yards on 7 catches. It was his ninth game of his career that he eclipsed the century mark and his fourth this season.
Wilson, who is tied for second in the NFL with 81 receptions and ranks No. 8 with 877 yards, reached 3,000 career receiving yards Sunday, his 47th game since he was drafted No. 10 overall in 2022. He tied Jets WRs Keyshawn Johnson and George Sauer for the fourth-fewest games to reach that mark in team history. The only players for the Green & White to reach 3,000 receiving yards in fewer games are Art Powell (39), Don Maynard (44) and Al Toon (46), according to Opta Stats.
Wilson’s 3,022 receiving yards, however, are more than any Jets receiver in franchise history through their first three seasons, according to “The NFL on CBS.”
On Sunday, Wilson was predominantly covered by Dolphins three-time first-team All-Pro and seven-time Pro Bowl CB Jalen Ramsey. Wilson caught 4 of his 6 targets for 97 yards with Ramsey as the nearest defender, the most receiving yards Ramsey has allowed to a single player since at least 2017, according to Next Gen Stats.
