LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — Raider Dad, a nonprofit organization, is on a mission to ensure children in the community have the opportunity to experience the excitement of a live Raiders game. Founded with the goal of filling unused seats at games, Raider Dad aims to inspire and connect children through sports, offering them experiences they might not otherwise have.
Josh Caminite, the executive director of Raider Dad, explained that the organization is committed to “inspiring and connecting children in our community through sports.” He said, “We believe in the power of mentorship and family bonds, offering youths access to professional sporting events that they might not otherwise experience.”
The initiative began when fans questioned what season ticket holders could do with unused tickets. The founder of Raider Dad collected these tickets to gift them to families who had never attended a Raiders game. In collaboration with Jay’s Gourmet, a tailgate was organized to create memorable experiences for families. In less than a month, 52 children were invited to a preseason game, marking the start of Raider Dad’s mission.
Each season, Raider Dad invites hundreds of kids to Raiders games and experiences, hosting events to reduce costs for families. “Las Vegas is an expensive city to begin with, and that is no different when it pertains to sporting events,” Caminite said. The organization aims to alleviate the financial burden by covering costs such as parking, food, and merchandise.
Caminite emphasized the importance of creating lasting memories, stating, “Football is more than a sport. It’s a culture, a tradition, a family that spans across many generations.” He added, “I made a commitment not to the Raiders, but the idea of creating and sharing moments with my own kids using sports.”
Thanks to the support of a passionate fanbase, hundreds of children are annually granted the wish of experiencing a Raiders game. Caminite expressed hope that these children will remember their first game at Allegiant Stadium and pass forward the opportunity to the next generation.
