The Denver Broncos made two roster moves on Friday ahead of their Week 2 preseason showdown with the Arizona Cardinals.
First, the Broncos designated Gregory Junior as waived/injured. Junior (6-0, 203 pounds), who just joined the team last Sunday, suffered a hamstring injury during a joint practice with the Cardinals on Thursday. If he clears waivers, Junior will revert to Denver’s injured reserve list.
Second, the Broncos signed cornerback Micah Abraham. He will give the team more depth at the position following the loss of Junior. Denver cornerback Reese Taylor is also currently sidelined with a hamstring injury.
Abraham (5-10, 185 pounds) entered the league as a sixth-round pick out of Marshall with the Indianapolis Colts in 2024. He had a 45-yard fumble-six against the Broncos in preseason last summer but failed to make Indy’s 53-man roster.
Two months after being cut by the Colts, Abraham joined the Cincinnati Bengals‘ practice squad. He was cut by Cincy this spring and then joined the UFL’s St. Louis Battlehawks. Abraham totaled five tackles and forced and recovered a fumble in three appearances with the Battlehawks this spring. He’ll now get another NFL opportunity in Denver.
