Former Clemson football quarterback DJ Uiagalelei didn’t hear his name called during the 2025 NFL Draft, but he’ll get his shot in the pros after the Los Angeles Chargers signed him as an undrafted free agent on April 26, according to NFL Network.
Uiagalelei spent three seasons with Clemson (2020-22) before transferring to Oregon State for the 2023 season and then to Florida State last season. With the Tigers, he recorded 5,681 passing yards, 36 touchdowns and 17 interceptions and completed 59.8% of his passes. He became the starter for the Tigers in 2021, helping Clemson reach the ACC championship in 2022.

In his season with FSU, Uiagalelei logged 1,065 yards passing for four touchdowns and six interceptions in five games before a season-ending hand injury.
Thirteen quarterbacks were selected in the draft, but Uiagalelei was not one of them. He will have to compete for a roster spot on a roster that has star Justin Herbert back for his sixth season as starter and veterans Trey Lance and Taylor Heinicke as reserves.
