Simeon Barrow Jr., Nate Carter among Falcons’ highest-graded players vs. Titans.
The Atlanta Falcons have taken a cautious approach through the first two games of the 2025 NFL preseason. On Friday night, the team lost a 23-20 thriller to the Tennessee Titans. While we didn’t see many starters for the Falcons, the exhibition gave several roster hopefuls a chance to make an impression on the coaching staff.
Offensively, a slow night turned into a wildly exciting third quarter. The Falcons scored 17 points to open the second half but were shut out in the fourth quarter. Undrafted free agent running back Nate Carter rushed for 63 yards on nine carries, including a 43-yard touchdown to get the Falcons back in the game.
Wide receiver Chris Blair followed with a 52-yard touchdown reception to tie the game at 20. Defensively, we saw rookie James Pearce Jr. turn in another promising performance. Undrafted free agent Simeon Barrow Jr. led the defense with a PFF grade of 89.5.

Falcons head coach Raheem Morris provided an update on first-round pick Jalon Walker, who missed Friday’s game with a groin injury.
“Jalon Walker, obviously, as you guys saw, we had a couple days of practice with those guys,” said Morris. “He kind of hurt himself a little, tweaked his groin a little bit on that last play that he was in on joint practices. So we held him tonight. Looking forward to getting him back out there next week.”
