The New York Jets will soon kick off their second preseason contest of the 2025 season, during which they will take on their cross-town rivals, the New York Giants.
For head coach Aaron Glenn, Saturday night is another opportunity for the team to get more reps in a game setting. With most of the starters gearing up to play, Saturday will be as good a test as any in August.
If warmups are any indication, we now know what the Jets’ current depth chart looks like just a few weeks before the start of the season.
The full list is here.
Jets’ offensive starter projection
QB: Justin Fields
RB: Breece Hall, Braelon Allen
WR: Garrett Wilson, Josh Reynolds
TE: Jeremy Ruckert
LT: Olu Fashanu
LG: John Simpson
C: Joe Tippmann
RG: Alijah Vera-Tucker
RT: Armand Membou
No major surprises on the offensive side of the ball, except for the position battles at tight end, WR2, and center. The fact that Joe Tippmann appears to be in warmups before the game should be a good sign for him.
Jets defensive starter projection
DE: Michael Clemons
DT: Jay Tufele
DT: Derrick Nnadi
DE: Will McDonald
LBs: Jamien Sherwood, Quincy Williams
CB: Sauce Gardner
Slot: Michael Carter II
CB: Brandon Stephens
S: Andre Cisco
Outside of their defensive line, which continues to be a question mark with three projected starters hurt, the Jets’ defensive lineup is pretty much set. Sherwood and Williams are the linebackers, Gardner, Stephens, and Carter are the corners, and Andre Cisco is at least one of the team’s starting safeties.
Today will be a big test for the defensive line competition, and at safety.
