Helman, on the other hand, had the AFC West at No. 2 in his rankings behind the NFC West.
His case for the Chargers to be one of these three teams in the playoffs is spearheaded by none other than Chargers Head Coach Jim Harbaugh.
“The Chargers, I wish they had done a bit more in the offseason, but it’s hard to argue with the totality of it,” Helman said. “Obviously, their outlook took a huge hit late last week when Rashawn Slater suffered a season-ending injury.
“Even still, I think these are solid rosters and I think it’s a really good point that the coaching matters,” Helman added. “I don’t want to say we, [but] I undersold Jim Harbaugh’s effect on the Chargers last year.”
Klassen echoed the sentiment, as a Harbaugh-led team, in his eyes, has earned the respect of being one of the most trusted squads in the NFL.
“Obviously, all that being aside, Jim Harbaugh is already back in that tier of like, these are just one of the handful of coaches I really trust the most,” Klassen said. “I really have a decent amount of faith in the Chargers [this year].”
