CHICAGO – Following a spirited Friday of practicing against each other at Halas Hall, the Buffalo Bills and Chicago Bears will complete their weekend with a nationally-televised preseason game Sunday night at Soldier Field.
The Bills dropped their preseason opener 34-25 to old friend Brian Daboll and his New York Giants eight days ago, while the Bears — under new coach Ben Johnson — played to a 24-24 tie at home against the Miami Dolphins, a game that was played also after a joint practice.
Josh Allen of the Bills and Caleb Williams of the Bears both sat out the preseason openers, and it stands to reason that neither will play in this game, especially after the controlled environment they were able to work in on Friday.
In fact, a good majority of the Bills starters who played last week may not get onto the field because coach Sean McDermott and his staff have some key personnel decisions to make at the bottom of the roster, including the backup quarterback duel between Mitch Trubisky and Mike White.
