The Atlanta Falcons are signing former Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback C.J. Henderson. Henderson has tried out for multiple teams, but the Falcons are the first team to give him a chance this summer.
Henderson suffered a neck injury in a Steelers practice and never returned last season. The team let him walk following the season and he became a free agent.
Over the last two months, Henderson has worked out for over five different teams before the Falcons inked him to a deal, giving him a chance to stick with a new team.
The Steelers signed Henderson to the active roster after multiple teams tried to sign him from the practice squad. A former top-ten pick, Henderson has yet to live up to the potential of his billing, but the talented cornerback has plenty of experience, and teams value that.
Over his career, he has spent time with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Carolina Panthers, and Houston Texans before signing to the Steelers’ practice squad last season.
