WASHINGTON (7News) — The Commanders are reportedly shopping running back Brian Robinson Jr.

According to Sunday night reports from NFL Insider Jordan Schultz, Washington is gauging the interest of teams across the league in a potential move to trade Robinson.

Robinson, who was drafted by Washington in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft, is entering the final year of his contract.

The Commanders’ running back room is currently led by Robinson, Austin Ekeler, and Jeremy McNichols. The team also drafted seventh-rounder Jacory ‘Bill’ Croskey-Merritt back in April, who has been passing the eye-test at training camp.

The Alabama product rushed just shy of 800 yards a season ago, scoring eight touchdowns across 14 regular-season games. He missed three games early in the season as he dealt with knee and hamstring injuries.

Before his rookie campaign, Robinson was the victim of an attempted robbery in DC. He suffered gunshot wounds to his leg and hip. That season, he made his NFL debut in Week 5, where he played the remaining 12 games of the year.

Robinson is one of just a few remaining players currently on the Commanders roster who were drafted by former head coach Ron Rivera.
