After a long offseason, college football is finally back and here to stay until a national champion is crowned in January.
College football kicks off on Saturday, Aug. 23, when a handful of teams compete before the official start of the season (in what is generally termed “Week 0”). The schedule is headlined by a ranked matchup between Big 12 foes in No. 20 Kansas State and No. 21 Iowa State in Dublin.
Kansas, another Big 12 program, will also kick off in its first game in its newly renovated David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium in Week 0.
While it’s not the full-fledged Week 1 slate that includes three top-10 ranked matchups, it’s real college football for the first time since Ohio State beat Notre Dame in the College Football Playoff national championship game last season.

Week 0 college football games will air live on ESPN, Fox CBS or CBS Network. ESPN games can be streamed on the ESPN app, while CBS and CBS Sports Network games can be streamed on the Paramount+ app. All three TV channels can be accessed with Fubo, which offers a free trial to potential subscribers.
Idaho State vs. UNLV will air on Mountain West Network, which isn’t carried by Fubo.
