Travis Kelce is never going to live down that squirrel tweet, is he? Actually, it’s the “squirle” tweet.
While at the University of Cincinnati, Kelce chronicled an encounter with a squirrel on X (which was known as Twitter) in 2011, and his spelling was not great.
That tweet resurfaced more than a decade later, and it even was featured in a Los Angeles Chargers schedule release. But since Kelce began dating superstar singer Taylor Swift, his vocabulary apparently has improved dramatically.
During Kelce’s chat Wednesday with Swift on the New Heights podcast, he correctly gave the definition of esoteric. That led to a funny couple of social-media messages from the Merriam-Webster dictionary.
Kelce, who is 6-5 and 250 pounds, is known for his physical presence on a football field, but this time he was praised for his brain.
“We’re just so proud of your lexical growth,” Merriam-Webster wrote on X after sharing the clip of Kelce telling his brother, Jason, what esoteric means.
It was a funny message for the Chiefs star and yeah, it included that squirle tweet.
