Meanwhile, a handful of veterans missed Monday’s practice, most of whom are dealing with minor injuries, according to Head Coach John Harbaugh.
Jaire Alexander, who has not practiced since Aug. 9, recently sought treatment for his knee but should be available for the Week 1 game against the Buffalo Bills, Harbaugh said. Fellow cornerbacks Chidobe Awuzie and Jalyn Armour-Davis (illness) and wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins are also not expected to miss significant time.
“The DB room right now is dealing with nothing serious in terms of season issues or even for the opener,” Harbaugh said. “[Alexander] had something, just kind of take care of that knee. You do some things to kind of help it from a health standpoint. It’s something he’s been dealing with for a few years now. It’s not anything we didn’t expect, probably.”
Harbaugh also said Hopkins is just going through body management with his knee.
