An NFL analyst has made a surprising W-L projection for the Cleveland Browns following their quarterback announcement on Monday.

The Browns have named veteran quarterback Joe Flacco their starter for Week 1. Flacco, 40, is in Year 1 with the Browns – though it’s his second stint with the team. Flacco, who spent last season in Indianapolis, beat out Kenny Pickett, Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders to win the starting job. The 17-year NFL veteran is best known for leading the Baltimore Ravens to a Super Bowl win in 2013.
In the wake of the Browns naming Flacco their starting quarterback, many NFL fans are predicting a rough season. One NFL analyst is not, though.

One NFL analyst, former quarterback Danny Kanell, is actually a major believer in the Cleveland Browns roster. He is a believer in the Browns contending for a playoff spot in the AFC this year.

Kanell has made a bold W-L prediction for Cleveland in 2025.
NFL analyst’s bold W-L prediction
Kanell, formerly of ESPN but now at CBS Sports, thinks the Cleveland Browns can be a 10-7 team with Flacco at quarterback in 2025.
The former Florida State Seminoles quarterback sees the Browns as a 9-8 or 10-7 team.
ESPN’s computer model disagrees
Kanell might be high on the Browns, but ESPN’s computer model, the Football Power Index, is not.
The Football Power Index has the Cleveland Browns as the worst team in the National Football League. ESPN’s computer model is predicting the Browns to go 6-10 this year. They’re ranked as the No. 32 team in the league heading into Week 1.

The Browns will look to get off on the right foot in Week 1 against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday, Sept. 7.
