After a workout with the Miami Dolphins yesterday, DC Defenders OT Mason Brooks signed a contract with the team. Brooks has earned some NFL interest following the UFL season, and now officially lands in Miami.
Mason Brooks was an offseason addition to this DC Defenders O-Line. He played a major role in revitalizing this unit, as DC’s offensive line play was dramatically improved compared to a season ago.
Brooks started in nine games that he played at right tackle. Unfortunately, he went down in a meaningless week 10 matchup vs. St. Louis with an injury – which knocked him out for the playoff push. Regardless, his impact was felt all year long.

Mason Brooks signed with the Washington Commanders after going undrafted in the 2023 NFL Draft, and impressively made the team’s practice squad and remained in Washington throughout his rookie season. Brooks was released the following season during camp, and was claimed by Carolina off of waivers before being released soon after. Mason also had a short stint with the Indianapolis Colts practice squad towards the end of the NFL season.
Now, Mason takes his talents to Miami. He’s the first UFL signing from the Dolphins this preseason cycle. Last year, Miami brought in a pair of Brahmas in Anthony McFarland and Wyatt Ray.
Brooks is the 8th DC Defenders player to sign an NFL contract this offseason. Without the national platform that the UFL provided him with, who knows if this would have been made possible. You can stay up to date on all UFL to NFL signings with our official tracker.
