The Buffalo Bills were criticized for not addressing the wide receiver position during the 2025 draft. The addition of Elijah Moore to the room shows exactly why they chose not to go that route.
With the addition of Moore, the Bills are working with a minimum of seven potential starters for the squad going into the 2025 season. Players like Moore, Laviska Shenault, and Joshua Palmer were brought in to add depth to the group.

Now, they are all competing for a key role on the roster moving forward.
And NFL beat reporter Albert Breer believes that means the Bills are in for a fiery competition at the position.
“I was a little surprised Elijah Moore was still available after the draft, so I think it was shrewd for the Buffalo Bills to take a flier on the former Browns and Jets slot receiver. Competition for roster spots at receiver in Buffalo’s training camp should be fierce,” said Breer.
Despite all the additions Buffalo made out wide, they still lack a true top overall target at the position. It has gotten them into trouble in the past, especially against the Kansas City Chiefs in the playoffs.

But when you add the work that tight ends like Dawson Knox and Dalton Kincaid put forth, including the team’s deep running back room, the Bills are one of the few teams that doesn’t necessarily need a true #1 guy.
With Josh Allen leading the way, and everyone on offense as a legitimate threat, it’s pretty clear why the Bills feel they’ll be ok regardless who wins the position battles going forward.
