We already knew the Denver Broncos were inviting former Colorado/Princeton quarterback Blake Stenstrom to try out at rookie minicamp this week. Now there’s news that another QB will be attending camp.
The Broncos have also invited veteran Desmond Ridder to rookie minicamp on a tryout basis, KUSA-TV’s Mike Klis first reported on Tuesday.
Ridder (6-3, 207 pounds) entered the NFL as a third-round pick out of Cincinnati with the Atlanta Falcons in 2022. He spent the first two years of his career in Atlanta, appearing in 19 games with 17 starts. He went 8-9 as a starter with the Falcons before being traded to the Arizona Cardinals in 2024 after Atlanta signed Kirk Cousins.
After failing to make Arizona’s 53-man roster, Ridder began the 2024 campaign on the Cardinals’ practice squad. The Las Vegas Raiders poached Ridder off Atlanta’s practice squad to their active roster last October after losing Aidan O’Connell to injury. Ridder dressed for six games for the Raiders, going 0-1 in his lone start.
Ridder has completed 63.6% of his passes in his career for 4,002 yards and 16 touchdowns against 14 interceptions. The 25-year-old QB has also rushed for 293 yards and five scores on the ground.
