Los Angeles Rams rookie running back Jarquez Hunter hasn’t earned too much screen time this offseason since he was drafted in the fourth round out of Auburn. Starter Kyren Williams has seen most of the first-team reps this summer and backup Blake Corum started the team’s first preseason game against the Dallas Cowboys.

But in Week 2, Hunter got the lion’s share of the carries after Corum saw four attempts against the Los Angeles Chargers. The rookie made the most of his snaps, too, with 55 rushing yards on 11 carries, including a nice 11-yard run.

Hunter was mic’d up during the Rams’ 23-22 win over the Chargers and sounded as poised and stoic as you’d expect from an experienced running back. But the most intriguing part of his day was how many times he said “yes, sir” during the game.

Take a watch:

Hunter is known as an explosive back, so his role in the Rams’ offense as a rookie will likely be more as a situational player than a true backup to Williams. If anything were to happen to Williams or Corum, though, Hunter looks like a player who could take on a bigger role if needed.
