During his press conference on Monday, Kansas City Chiefs defensive back Jaylen Watson commented on new additions to the secondary and returning from injury last season.
“It’s pretty challenging. Like I said last time, (I’m) just trying to get out there and fight for my teammates,” said Watson. “(We) had one shot to make history, came (up) short, but I wouldn’t change it.”

The Chiefs signed Kristian Fulton at the start of free agency, hoping to strengthen the position that was hammered with injuries in 2024. The divisional round victory over the Houston Texans was Watson’s first game since Week 7 after suffering a broken fibula and landing on injured reserve for most of the season.
“You can never have too many good DBs,” said Watson, “I think depth was an important piece going into this offseason, and we filled that, and they’ve (Nohl Williams and Kristian Fulton) done a great job coming in.”
The former seventh-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft has become vital to the secondary. During his three seasons with Kansas City, Watson has recorded one interception, two sacks, and 114 combined tackles.
