Another wave has quietly begun in NFL free agency. With the draft behind us, along with the end of the period in which signed players count against the compensatory draft pick formula, teams are revisiting what their team needs are and what is out there.

Recently we put together a list of ten free agents still out there still who would make sense for the Raiders. But what of those former Raiders who have yet to be signed this offseason. There are several. Including a few who started games for the Raiders last season.

CB Jack Jones

Games: 17

Starts: 16

Jones had been the full time starting right corner since late in the 2023 season when he took over for problem child Marcus Peters. Well, Jones was a bit of a problem child himself and the new regime opted not to keep him around.

DT John Jenkins

Games: 17

Starts: 17

Jenkins started every game the past two seasons for the Raiders. But at the age of 36, it may be time to hang up his cleats after a 12-year NFL career.

RB Ameer Abdullah

Games: 16

Starts: 3

Abdullah was a big part of the Raiders backfield late last season, putting up 572 yards from scrimmage with five touchdowns. He showed plenty of burst and some thought the 32-year-old might have earned a return, but that has yet to happen.

WR DJ Turner

Games: 12

Starts: 6

The former undrafted free agent spent the past three years with the Raiders. Often flirting with being a good slot receiver and return man. Last season was the first time he touched the ball on offense, with 16 catches, 5 runs, and a two combined touchdowns. Seems somewhat odd he wasn’t brought back into the fold considering the thin receiving corps in Las Vegas.

G Cody Whitehair

Games: 12

Starts: 3

The veteran was the Raiders’ season-opening starter at left guard. But once Jackson Powers-Johnson was ready to play, Whitehair was relegated to reserve duties.

T Andrus Peat

Games: 15

Starts: 1

He got a start early in the season. It didn’t go well. He was saved for jumbo packages and special teams snaps after that.

LB Luke Masterson

Games: 4

Starts: 2

The former undrafted free agent was the next-man-up at linebacker the past three seasons. Though in most cases, the dropoff when he was in the game was apparent.

QB Desmond Ridder

Games: 6

Starts: 1

Ridder was signed off the Cardinals practice squad midseason. He saw some spot duty due to the injuries at quarterback to both Gardner Minshew and Aidan O’Connell. His one start wasn’t too great. He threw a couple picks and the Raiders scored just nine points.

Others include: LB Kana’i Mauga, WR Ramel Keyton, DT Tomari Fox
