Green Bay Packers rookie wide receiver Matthew Golden made another standout play at Tuesday’s training camp practice, and there’s a highlight to prove it.

Golden, the team’s first-round pick, got behind the coverage of Keisean Nixon and Evan Williams and then hauled in a long pass from backup quarterback Malik Willis for the score during an 11-on-11 period.

Mike Spofford of Packers.com called it “without a doubt the play of the day and one of the prettiest looking passes all training camp.”

Here’s the highlight touchdown from Tuesday:

While Golden has impressed with his overall quickness, smoothness in and out of routes and excellent hands, every now and then he’s delivered a big play down the field using his elite speed. At the combine, Golden finished the 40-yard dash in 4.29 seconds.

Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst recently noted the consistency of Golden’s playmaking ability during training camp, and what it might mean for his future.

“He’s one of those rookies that has made one or two plays every day, and when you start to see that consistency of that, there’s a lot of history here that those guys make it and are pretty good players in the league,” Gutekunst said. “He’s just scratching the surface. He’s still learning quite a bit, but he’s made plays when he’s had opportunities to make plays, and that’s a good sign. Certainly a lot more out there for him, and he’s working hard to get to those next places.”

Even Nixon had to give Golden props, calling him a “hell of a player.”

“Really strong hands,” Nixon said. “You can tell why he went first round. Strong at the catch point, strong hands, strong upper body. So, I think he’ll have a really good year.”

The Packers had their second-to-last open practice of training camp on Tuesday. The final open practice is Thursday’s joint practice with the Seattle Seahawks.
