Dallas Cowboys tight end Luke Schoonmaker left Dallas’ practice Tuesday and went to the locker room with the medical staff, according to Dallas Morning News Cowboys insider Calvin Watkins.
The Cowboys returned to North Texas for practices at the Star in Frisco after spending the last month in California. The team has one more preseason game against the Atlanta Falcons ahead of their season opener against the defending Super Bowl champion Eagles on Sept. 4.
Schoonmaker, 26, has struggled to make an impact at tight end since Dallas selected him out of Michigan in the second round of the 2023 NFL draft. He enters his third season with 35 career catches for 306 yards and three touchdowns.
He is second on the Cowboys’ depth chart at tight end behind starter Jake Ferguson who received a four-year, $52 million extension in July.
