Pepin-Alma is coming off a fantastic 2024 campaign and is looking to take things a step further this season.
The Eagles have been a dominant force, boasting an impressive 38-6 record over the last four seasons and are the three-time defending Dairyland Conference champions.
The team is returning many key pieces from last year’s team, including their quarterback, leading rusher, and several members of the offensive line. This combination has not only motivated the team but also helped them form a strong bond since the beginning of the off-season.
“A lot of people have been in the weight room this summer, and a lot of guys are also hit the 1000 pound club this year almost our whole offensive line is in it. So that’s real good to see. I feel like everyone worked their butt off this last summer,” said senior quarterback Trenton Krzoska.
Senior lineman Breckin Hullopeter added, “This year we’re all very connected. We did a lot of summer off-season activities where we would get together at the beach, do a work out there, hang out at someone’s house, to just stay connected. It was really nice.”
One standout player the Eagles will lean heavily on is running back Justin Bergmann, who averaged over 130 rushing yards per game last year. While many young athletes look up to professional players for inspiration, Justin finds motivation closer to home.
“Probably not big names, but I do look after my brother. My brother plays college ball for UW-Stout this year. He puts in the work, and I see what he does and how he runs, and I try to imitate that,” Bergmann said.
With a talented and motivated roster returning, Pepin-Alma looks poised to continue its reign and push even further in the upcoming season. The Eagles will start their season on Thursday when they hit the road to face Elmwood-Plum City.
