Lampkin didn’t receive a combine invite, whether a matter of his size, tape or other factors. He did participate in the Senior Bowl though, an experience that Lampkin hopes made an impression on teams as he inches closer to the draft.
“It was really cool, having those interviews with the 32 teams,” Lampkin said. “So it helped me, you know, understand where I was looking forward to going, who’s going to draft me, who’s going to sign me.
“Helped me actually paint a picture of it, you know, having those conversations with those coaches, because I’ve never had really conversations with them, so, you know, getting that out the way.
“The competition was amazing, you know, there were so many big name guys that I got to see, got to hang around, got to play against, and that was an amazing opportunity for me.”
The next opportunity will be the NFL. And whether that is on the offensive line, as a fullback, or wherever a team needs the versatile blocker, Lampkin is ready to find the right fit.
“I just want to be in the right position,” Lampkin said. “So you know, get to the right team that will allow me to use my skill set to get further. So, you know, just having a good mentality, staying focused, not looking at the outside, looking at what I control.”
