San Francisco 49ers star running back Christian McCaffrey had what was essentially a lost season in 2024 due to injury. McCaffrey missed several games at the start of the season due to Achilles tendinitis and then suffered a knee injury that ended his season in one of his four appearances on the season.

The Niners opened training camp that McCaffrey and the team as a whole would be healthier this season after injuries to star players played a massive role in the team not making the playoffs last year.

Unfortunately, on Tuesday, San Francisco got news that they’d be without another running back for the 2025 season, according to one prominent NFL insider.

“49ers RB Patrick Taylor Jr. will miss the entire 2025 NFL season with a shoulder injury that will require surgery,” reported Ari Meirov.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.

“Kyle Shanahan did a blood sacrifice for something and in exchange all of his RBs are forever cursed,” one person wrote on Twitter.

“Has anyone looked into CMC being a witch that steals the life energy from his teammates to keep him healthy?” one fan added.

“This team is so cursed Also what the hell is going on with the 49ers medical/conditioning team?” someone else wrote.

It’ll be interesting to see if there are major changes to the 49ers’ training staff coming down the line.
