The New England Patriots are among teams that have called the Cincinnati Bengals about hold-in defensive end Trey Hendrickson, according to a report via Twitter/X from Armando Salguero.
Josina Anderson reported that the Pats feel the cost to acquire Hendrickson is “too much.”

The Bengals reportedly are listening to trade offers for Hendrickson, with Carolina, Cleveland and Indianapolis among teams reportedly having shown interest in the 2024 NFL sacks leader.
After the Bengals’ preseason win against the Washington Commanders, ESPN’s Mina Kimes slammed the Cincinnati defense, insisting the Bengals “need so much more” than Hendrickson. In July, ESPN’s “Get Up” lambasted the Bengals’ defense despite offseason additions through free agency and the draft as well as key players returning from injury, during an update about Hendrickson’s negotiations with the team.
Quarterback Joe Burrow said “we’ll see” when asked about his confidence in the Bengals and Hendrickson finalizing a deal.
ESPN’s Laura Rutledge reported during Monday’s game that the Bengals and Hendrickson are in agreement on average salary and contract length, but not guaranteed money.
