Prior to his stint in the USFL, Powell was a member of the Seattle Seahawks’ practice squad in November 2024 after being released by the Kansas City Chiefs.

As a fifth-year senior in 2020, Powell started all 12 games for Clemson and had a career year by hauling in 53 catches for 882 yards and seven touchdowns. A native of Greenville, North Carolina, Powell finished his career at Clemson with 1,211 receiving yards and 10 touchdown catches. He was a fifth-round pick by the Chiefs in 2021.

Powell has appeared in three career NFL games (all in 2022) without recording a target. The Texans close out their preseason schedule against the Detroit Lions at Ford Field Saturday.
