The Minnesota Vikings made a bit of a shocking move on Wednesday night.
The Vikings sent away defensive lineman Harrison Phillips and a seventh-round pick in the 2027 NFL Draft to the New York Jets for a sixth-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft and a sixth-round pick in the 2027 NFL Draft. Phillips being traded away also frees up $7.4 million in salary cap space for the 2025 NFL season.

The trade was first reported by NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero.
The Vikings’ defensive line will now be spearheaded by big-name free agents Jonathan Allen and Javon Hargrave. Backing them up, though, will be the younger players in the group, such as Jalen Redmond, Levi Drake Rodriguez, and Elijah Williams. All three of them likely played well enough to make this move happen, and it speaks to the trust that not only Kwesi Adofo-Mensah has in the youth of his roster, but also Brian Flores.
