The Denver Broncos have agreed to trade second-year wide receiver Devaughn Vele to the New Orleans Saints in exchange for a fourth-round draft pick in 2026 and a seventh-round draft pick in 2027, the team announced Wednesday.

Vele (6-5, 210 pounds) was picked by the Broncos in the seventh round of last year’s NFL draft out of Utah. He served a two-year LDS mission after high school and after spending five years at the college level, went pro as a 26-year-old rookie last spring.

Vele ranked second among Denver’s receivers in receptions (41) last fall and third in receiving yards (475) and touchdowns (three). Following the emergence of second-year receiver Troy Franklin and the addition of third-round draft pick Pat Bryant this summer, though, Vele became expendable for the Broncos.
