Former Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Demarcus Robinson has been suspended three games for violating the league’s substance abuse policy. Robinson is currently a member of the San Francisco 49ers after signing a two-year, $8 million deal as a free agent this offseason.
Robinson was arrested last November on suspicion of DUI. He did not miss any time with the Rams following the arrest and he wasn’t formally charged with DUI until January. After being charged, the NFL investigated the matter and determined he violated the substance abuse policy.

Rams GM Les Snead said in March that the team suspected Robinson might be suspended, which impacted Los Angeles’ decision to let him walk in free agency.
In two seasons with the Rams, Robinson caught 57 passes for 876 yards and 11 touchdowns. He led the Rams with seven touchdowns last season, setting a new career-high.
He played 33 games and made 21 starts during his time with the Rams.
The Rams and 49ers will meet for the first time this season in Week 5, so Robinson will be available for that game against his former team.
