The final season of “The Summer I Turned Pretty,” a coming-of-age romantic television series based on the book trilogy by bestselling author Jenny Han, has taken the internet by storm, with fans declaring themselves Team Conrad, Team Jeremiah or Team Belly.
The show, which premiered in 2022, hinges on a love triangle between Belly (Lola Tung) and brothers Conrad (Christopher Briney) and Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno), which takes place throughout multiple summers.
While the show has had several viral moments, one of the biggest online talkers has been comparisons between Conrad Fisher to Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow (fans think Briney looks eerily similar to Burrow, and now we can’t unsee it).

Both Conrad and Burrow are mysterious and keep to themselves (not to mention Conrad also used to play football).
Instagram account Sportsish even created a game to see if NFL and “The Summer I Turned Pretty” fans could see who said what, as it would be easy to picture either Conrad or Burrow saying each quote. The post has over 17,600 likes.
Several NFL social media teams, such as the Cleveland Browns, Miami Dolphins, New Orleans Saints, Dallas Cowboys and more, have weighed in on which fandom they support (all of them are proud Team Conrad members).
The Bengals have not revealed their allegiance, but they have confirmed they’re aware of the Conrad-Burrow comparisons.

The team posted a TikTok video Aug. 16, replying to a comment, talking about Burrow, which said, “Conrad, if he took football more seriously.” The video, captioned “Conrad could never…” garnered more than 61,000 likes and over 434,000 views. Even the official TikTok account for “The Summer I Turned Pretty” commented on the Bengals video, saying, “Ya know, I kind of see it.”
If you still don’t see the resemblance between Conrad and Burrow, maybe these TikToks will help.
