A trio of Miami Dolphins players appeared to suffer injuries Thursday in a joint practice with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The first was running back Jaylen Wright, who was helped off the field after suffering some sort of leg injury. Not long after, rookie wide receiver A.J. Henning was carted off the field and then used crutches to go inside the team facility.

The cherry on top of a rough day of injuries for the Dolphins was an injury that had linebacker Jordyn Brooks limping at the end of practice.

The severity of the injuries isn’t yet known, but the dings for Wright and Brooks are particularly concerning. While Wright has struggled through much of training camp and preseason, the Dolphins already lost Alexander Mattison for the year and starter De’Von Achane is nursing a calf injury. Brooks has emerged as arguably the biggest leader of the Dolphins’ defense.

Miami may be inclined to shelve Henning on injured reserve even his issue isn’t severe. The rookie has shown promise but is unlikely to earn a spot on the 53-man roster. A place on IR would keep him in the building for another year without the risk of another team scooping him off the waivers or the practice squad.
