Terrance Ferguson is one of the many Los Angeles Rams players who have dealt with injuries this summer but like Matthew Stafford, he returned to practice this week. He missed about two weeks with a groin injury that he suffered in training camp, which caused him to sit out the first two preseason games, as well.
Sean McVay shared some good news on Thursday, however, telling reporters that Ferguson will make his preseason debut on Saturday against the Cleveland Browns. It’s unclear how much Ferguson will play, but we can assume he won’t be on the field very long, especially with Dresser Winn at quarterback.

The Rams won’t want to risk their top rookie getting injured again before the regular season begins.
The Rams selected Ferguson 46th overall after trading down 20 spots with the Atlanta Falcons, adding the Oregon tight end to their offensive arsenal. He was the most athletic tight end in the 2025 draft class, based on his testing at the NFL combine, so he’s got an incredibly high ceiling as a pass catcher.
The Rams are deep at the position with Tyler Higbee, Colby Parkinson and Davis Allen, so Ferguson can take his time getting up to speed. But once he’s fully acclimated to the NFL, he could become a key contributor for Los Angeles.
